Originally more of a experiment with colors rather than actual composition. After I spent some time playing with it, this really started to remind of a cold winter morning. At first I even added falling snow, but it blocked and distorted the rest of the picture too much, thus taking from the picture not adding value to it.

The stock picture is amazing because of the overall emptiness of the sky, which lets me manipulate it more easily, and the falling shadows of the trees is the thing I liked most about it. Although I was really skeptical about the sun on the left side of the picture, I decided to leave it there in the end. Otherwise I'd have to correct a lot of logical problems and mainly get rid of the shadows I love so much.
The four rockets serve as a way of spicing up the picture. Lately I've been in love with adding some shiny elements to a picture with somewhat dull colors. The bright magenta was the first color I tried for the rockets and I instantly liked the effect.

About the bird in the background - totally unintended. After some time of fiddling around with different cloud stock, painting some parts myself and using an awesome brush, I became aware of the 'hidden' picture in the background. I dropped all my activities related with the background right there and then and left it just as it is.
Since fathers day was coming up I decided to give it as a gift to my old man. A glossy fully framed A4 sized print. As far as I can tell - he loved it.
